Your Library Team

The Rollings Middle School of the Arts Library will provide the students, faculty, and staff of RMSA with access to rich and relevant resources, research assistance, and fiction and non-fiction texts.

The library will promote students' rights to self-select texts for their reading pleasure and will encourage and promote literacy school-wide. The RMSA library will provide a space, both physical and digital, for students to collaborate, connect, and build relationships with text, each other, and themselves.

Welcome to the RMSA library!

This is my second year as librarian but my 6th year at RMSA. I proudly served as RMSA's Teacher of the Year for 2021 and was a Dorchester District Two Honor Teacher. I live here in Summerville with my husband, daughter, and son. Both of my children are current DD2 students.

Before becoming a librarian, I taught English Language Arts and Social Studies for 13 years. My Bachelor's Degree is from the College of Charleston, and I have completed Master's coursework in English Literature along with my MLIS from the University of South Carolina. In my free time, I enjoy reading middle grades, YA, and adult fiction, baking, photography, and traveling with my family.

In our library, I enjoy assisting students with finding the perfect book for them, helping all members of our school community with research and finding the information they need, and developing new programming for our library.

I truly believe there is a book/genre/author out there for every student to enjoy, and I will do my best to help any student find a book to read and enjoy.

Sandra Edwards
Media Assistant

My name is Sandy Edwards and this is my 16th year as the Media Assistant at RMSA.

My main duties are to assist the librarian with the daily operations of the library. This includes book circulation, computer management, and assisting students and teachers as needed.

I also manage the school’s website calendar and school-wide TV monitors.

The best part of my job is sharing my love of reading with students.
