SC READY Elementary and Middle School Testing Information

The South Carolina College and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) program is a statewide assessment in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science (grades 4 and 6), administered to students in grades 3–8 as required by the Education Accountability Act (EAA). In Dorchester School District Two, the assessments will be administered on the following dates and are scheduled to begin approximately 30 minutes after the instructional day has begun.

Additional Notes

  • Restart your student device and install any updates prior to test day.
  • Ensure that your student device is fully charged each day of SC READY testing.
  • Arrive on time each day and avoid scheduling doctor’s appointments and other out-of-school functions on test days.  Should a student arrive at school after testing has begun, they will be scheduled for a make-up session.
  • Any special testing conditions will be communicated directly by each school.
  • DD2 students will use the built-in Desmos calculator for testing (Grades 6-8 only).
  • The SC READY Information for Parents site contains brochures, translations, sample score reports, Writer’s Checklists,  Score Report User’s Guide, Online Training Tools, Sample Items, and alternate format requests.

 

Electronic Device Policy

Students may not be in possession of any smart/wearable technology or electronic device that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creative images, or storing images in the classroom during the testing period. These devices include, but are not limited to phones, smart watches, wireless headphones/earbuds, smart glasses, devices with Bluetooth capabilities, etc.

Potential consequences for misconduct may include, but are not limited to:

  • Invalidation of the test score
  • Suspension or expulsion from school
  • Investigation by local police or the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) with possible criminal charges or other civil or legal sanctions
